Day 9, and Day 2 of Phase 2 brought some new discoveries for me. It's looking like I'll need to make some adjustments and I had a revelation today about cravings!
First of all, the past two days for me have been....hungry. I went to bed hungry last night, and woke up hungry again. The bowl of fruit laid out in the plan just didn't cut it for me. It's very rare to hear of ANYONE hungry on this program, so I decided that my body was really trying to tell me something. I have a small frame, and as I've mentioned previously, I'm not doing this to lose more weight. I have in fact lost weight (more on that at the end!), but really not looking to lose much more. That being said, I decided today to start increasing my portions when needed, and also adding more grains back into each meal. Hopefully this will help solve the hunger problem!
A big revelation I had today was that my cravings are gone. Not kind of gone, we are talking completely gone. I'm not sure I can recall any time in recent memory looking at a piece of chocolate, or a bag of chips and not hearing from my brain, "I want DAT". Now, it seems to more of a "Meh". It's amazing to me the power that sugar can have on our body chemistry and daily choices. I'm learning through this program that it's everything. When this is over, I will need to do a better job of balance and re-introducing sugar in a way that doesn't take over all my choices.
What I Ate:
Breakfast: Fresh Fruit Bowl
Lunch: Microgreens Salad, Homemade Garlic Dressing + Rice with Pinto Beans
Optional Snack: Chocolate Vegan Shakeology, Chia Seeds, 1 cup Strawberries
Dinner: Roasted red pepper and sweet potato bisque, roasted asparague
Clearly today was a day of learning! We shall see what tomorrow brings.
