Beet the Bloat Smoothie
So....it's the day After. The day after the food fest that is Thanksgiving. I had a few too many BLTs yesterday (bites, licks and tastes) and definitely got my dessert on in a big way.
Today my body is craving something cleansing and fresh. Namely....veggies. Because I'm not going to sit down and have a salad at 9AM, I thought I'd start the day off with a great detoxifying smoothie.
This one is perfect for reducing inflammation, boosting immunity, and detoxification. I'm not a huge beet person, but I really didn't taste it too much in this. My little 2 year old LOVED it. Plus, it's gorgeous!

Serves: 2
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups coconut water
1 red beet (cooked, peeled and chopped)
1 apple, skin on, cored and chopped
1/2 lemon, peeled and seeds removed
1/2 SMALL avocado or 1/4 large, pitted and peeled
1/8 t ground cinnamon
Pinch of cayenne pepper
2 cups frozen strawberries
1 T Agave
Note: You will need to cook those beets in advance. Just throw 'em in a pot of boiling water for 15 minutes or until you can easily insert a knife, and you are good to go!
