What is Clean Eating?

What is clean eating? This is a question I get a LOT!

For me, it’s not a diet, it’s a way of eating and a philosophy that leans more toward creating a healthy relationship with food and balanced lifestyle versus restriction.

Here are the key facets:

  • Eat 5-6 times a day. It sounds tricky but with a little bit of planning, it’s quite simple! I tend to follow the 21 Day Fix nutrition plan, which guides toward 3 meals a day with two snacks in between. Each meal is the SAME portion size, and not too big! Meals include a good mix of lean protein, healthy fat and veggies.
  • Drink at least half your body weight (in ounces) a day. This is so important to keep you body flushed and has many other benefits.
  • Avoid processed and refined foods: Steer clear of anything that is high in sugar, sodium, fats or has ingredients that you don’t recognize!
  • Eat organic when possible.

I help my clients with everything from understanding how to create a meal plan template, to planning out one week at a time, to understanding the correct balance of protein, fats, veggies and carbs that should be spread across meals for the day. Not only that, I'll even help shop if needed and help my clients understand exactly how to do the prep work.
